Conductor: Wilko Brouwers
Wilko Brouwers trained as a choral conductor at the Arnhem Academy of Music (Hans van de Hombergh) and at the Liszt Academy in Budapest (Péter Erdei and Istvám Párkai). From 1989 until 2016 he led the Monteverdi Chamber Choir Utrecht and for two seasons he was artistic director of the professional chamber choir Cantiere Vocal Utrecht.
From 2006 until 2013, Wilko Brouwers directed the Gregorian chant of the Cistercian monks at St. Benedict’s Abbey De Achelse Kluis. From 2005 until 2019, he taught Gregorian chant at the annual Sacred Music Colloquium, organised by the Church Music Association of America.

He also wrote The Word that Gets Wings, a book in which children are introduced to the world of Gregorian chant in 20 lessons. This book was also published in the United states with the title Words with Wings. Wilko Brouwers currently heads the Gregorian Circle Utrecht and the Gregorian Circle ‘s-Hertogenbosch. He is also a board member of the Amici Cantus Gregoriani.
From 1994 until 2013, Wilko Brouwers worked as the director of Ward Centrum Nederland intent on improving music education in Dutch primary schools. He wrote the music method Stepping Tones, introducing primary school children to the art of reading and writing music. From 2008 until 2019, Wilko Brouwers taught choral conducting courses at the Utrecht Centre of Arts. He regularly runs courses and workshops for the national Vereniging Huismuziek.
Wilko Brouwers keeps himself busy with all kinds of choral improvisation. He considers improvisation and composition each to be the extension of the other. His compositions have been published by Ascolta and De Haske publishers. In recent years he is entirely self-published.

Choir coach Marjon Strijk
Marjon Strijk studied solo singing with Jeanne Companjen and Eugenie Dietewig. Since then she has been receiving coaching from Elena Vink and Hetty Gehring. She has followed master classes by Michael Chance and Ulrich Eidenlohr. As a soloist she receives frequent requests to perform both in the Netherlands and abroad.
Her repertoire includes a variety of musical styles associated with different periods throughout history. Marjon has worked with many conductors including Jos van Veldhoven, Peter Dijkstra, Harry van der Kamp, Klaas Stok en Stephan MacLeod.
Since 2016, Marjon Strijk has been working as a choir coach with the Strijps Kamerkoor.
The Strijps Kamerkoor has appointed 7 former choir members as honorary members. They have been awarded this title because they have made a special contribution to the Strijps Chamber Choir. At the beginning of 2007 Louis Baghuis †, Anny Dogge, Daan Janssen, Cor Jolie and Lies Nass were honored. Elly Baghuis has been an honorary member since her retirement in October 2009. Peter Janssen has been an honorary member since his retirement in November 2017.
